Annual Street Dance to be in memory of Rick Cox
Friday, 19 June 2009 12:58
Dennis Ludwig
The Street Dance held Friday night of the Corn Festival, each year for the past 4 years, will be held in memory of former Topsy's owner, the late Rick Cox. Rick co-sponsored the dance each of the last 3 years. He asked for no part of the planning just wrote the check each year. Rick was always willing to do anything asked of him by the Festival Committee. Perfoming again at this year's dance will be The ByGones, featuring El Paso native Tom Haas on Bass Guitar and vocals. Join us in the alley behind Topsy's at 9:30 Friday, September 11.

No one goes away hungry if they come to our festival. Between the Carnival food, food in the tents, and the three dinners served in the library park each night there are plenty of options for lunch, dinner, and everything else. On Thursday night we have the local Fireman's Steak Fry, Friday night is the Kiwanis Spaghetti dinner, and on Saturday it is the Baptist Church Chicken dinner. In the tents we always have Uncle Bob's ice cream, the Lutheran booth with more fresh pies than you can imagine, and the local Boy Scouts cooking up pork chops all day and night!

He Booked Gallagher!

Yes, the rumors are true...somehow our Entertainment Guru Dennis Ludwig was able to book the comedian Gallagher for Saturday night's main act. He will be doing his full "Sledge-O-Matic" routine so be prepared to not only be thouroughly entertained but possibly sprayed with a variety of vegetable innards. We will be selling poncho's for anyone who wants to sit up close and literally get splattered with part of the show. See our Entertainment section for more info on all of our great entertainment. There should be something for everyone. http://gallaghersmash.com/
